The Hydrogen Utilization Research Division aims to significantly advance hydrogen utilization technologies, which play a leading role in realizing a hydrogen-based society. The division engages in comprehensive research on innovative material design at the atomic and nanoscale levels. By utilizing advanced analytical techniques such as microscopic analysis and synchrotron radiation analysis, it contributes not only to hydrogen fuel cell technologies but also to a wide range of advanced material analyses in hydrogen production, delivery, and storage.
The division promotes research and development of materials and systems that address key bottlenecks in device design, while also supporting new applications, industrial collaboration, social demonstration, and public outreach. In particular, it leads the development of innovative materials and devices for the full-scale deployment of hydrogen mobility.
