All Hands Meeting and Guest Lecture by Dr. Sunita Satyapal

On Tuesday, October 13, the Hydrogen Institute for Sustainability (HYDROGENIUS) held its second All Hands Meeting. Marking six months since the institute’s establishment, the meeting provided an opportunity to share achievements and progress across the institute and further strengthen collaboration among its research divisions. The meeting was facilitated by Dr. Sunita Satyapal, Senior Advisor to the institute, who was visiting Kyushu University.

The meeting opened with remarks by Professor Nobuo Kimizuka, who became the institute’s new director in October. Dr. Satyapal then provided feedback on the institute’s activities over the past six months, followed by progress reports from the heads of the research divisions.

The meeting also featured group discussions, with approximately 35 participants divided into eight groups. The ideas and suggestions raised by each group will be compiled at a later date and used to inform the institute’s future management and activities.

In conjunction with Dr. Satyapal’s visit to Kyushu University, a guest lecture was held primarily for graduate students majoring in Hydrogen Energy Systems and faculty members. The lecture room was filled with attendees eager to hear her insights.

Dr. Satyapal introduced the Global Institute for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (GIHF), which she established on October 8, and discussed the current state of hydrogen research and applications, as well as future challenges, from a global perspective.

The lecture was followed by a lively question-and-answer session, providing participants with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of international trends and future prospects in the hydrogen field.
